Through the Himalayan Hills
As our team hiked through the steep, rocky mountains of the Himalayan hills in Nepal, we carried more than just gear and water—we carried the Good News.
Our destination was unknown to us. We were simply following the lead of a local guide who had one small, remote village on his heart. Nestled high among the peaks, this village was far from the reach of most—but not beyond the reach of God.
When we arrived, we were met by an older man and his family. We quickly learned that his young grandson had just been carried down the mountain to an ambulance. The boy was seriously ill. Our first moments with the family were spent listening, comforting, and praying—asking the Lord to bring peace and healing.
With heavy hearts and the help of our translator, we began to share the hope of the Gospel—a hope that holds steady even in the midst of suffering and pain. As we spoke, something shifted. The man’s eyes lit up with recognition. He interrupted us, saying he had heard of Jesus before.
He quickly disappeared into his home and returned holding a small, worn booklet—the Gospel of John. A priest had passed through the village ten years earlier and left it with him. For a decade, he had kept it, not fully understanding the message it contained.
Now, we were there to help him understand.
We spent hours reading through the Gospel of John together, explaining the story of Jesus Christ, the power of His sacrifice, and the Holy Spirit He left with us. As we spoke, the Holy Spirit moved—softening hearts and opening ears.
By the end of our time together, the man rededicated his life to the Lord—and his daughter gave her life to Jesus for the very first time.
As the sun set over the mountains, we promised to send a local pastor with full Bibles for the family in the coming days.

But what happened next left us speechless.
At dawn the very next morning, the man appeared at the church where we were staying—having hiked three hours just to receive his Bible. His face radiated joy. His eyes gleamed with hunger for the Word of God.
We stood in awe.
That day, we witnessed the transformative power of the Gospel and the deep spiritual hunger that lives in hearts all over the world. Because eternity is written on all our hearts, and Jesus is the only name that can bring us into true life. Jesus is reaching the most remote places on the earth, praise the Lamb for the power of His name.
